Golf Associate

Department: SPR - Golf Shop
Location: Sun Peaks, BC
Position Type: Summer Season

Do you love all things golf? Ever wanted to work and play on Canada’s highest-elevation golf course? We are looking to recruit Golf Associates for the upcoming summer. You will assist guests and members in the pro shop with their tee times, equipment rentals and merchandise. The ideal applicant is happy to work indoors and outdoors in a mountain environment in varying weather conditions. Compensation Information: $19.00 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium, Indoor and Outdoor.

  • Walking, standing, bending, crouching and twisting for periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various conditions, including inside the shop, underground in the garage space, and outside.
  • Exposure to heat, rain, smoke, and noise.
  • Lifting – Exerting 20+ kg of strength occasionally, and/or 10 kg of strength frequently or constantly to move objects.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Strong team player who can demonstrate respectful collaboration and communication.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to react and handle multiple demands.
  • Experience with Point of Sale and Tee Sheet Management Systems an asset.
  • Fundamental knowledge of golf is an asset.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, respect, and open-mindedness when with colleagues and guests.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assistance through greeting and interacting with members and guests in a quick, polite, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for managing tee-time bookings, and proper guest information tracking
  • Perform sales transactions of tee times, retail merchandise, power cart, and rental equipment with diligence and care.
  • Ensure the golf cart staging area and cart storage area are clean, and charging mechanisms are working properly.
  • Responsible for cleaning, charging, and maintaining power cart fleet.
