Lift Maintenance Summer Helper

This position provides a valuable learning experience for individuals eager to develop their skills in lift maintenance while supporting our maintenance team in ensuring equipment is safe, efficient, and ready for peak operation. Compensation Information: $20.10 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 35kg; both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License - drivers abstract required.
  • Able to operate snowmobiles, ATV’s and 4x4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, dependable, timely, and able to work well with others.
  • Passenger ropeway and conveyor operation experience is an asset.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions, at excessive heights, and walk up and down hills in rough terrain, and can work in cold weather.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to maintain a calm, effective, and friendly manner under periods of stress.
  • Strong desire to develop a career in the ski industry. This is a good entry level position for those wanting to build experience and qualifications for a trade or other career in the ski industry.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing all duties assigned by the Lift Maintenance Manager, Lead Hand, or Millwrights.
  • Operate passenger ropeways in a safe and responsible manner and follow work carrier procedures.
  • Working safely around rotating equipment in a safe and responsible manner and following lock-out procedures as required.
  • Assist in ensuring all lifts are maintained according to current Z-98 code requirements and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Work safely and follow safety procedures when working at heights.
  • Assist lift mechanics with all aspects of lift and department equipment maintenance.
  • Extend the highest degree of courtesy and respect in working with SPRLLP Management, staff, co-workers, and guests at all times.
  • Maintain confident and presentable representation of the department at all times.
  • Accept and follow the direction of any SPRLLP supervisor or manager, as requested.
  • Strive to help keep work areas, shops, lunch rooms, trucks, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Keep track of work performed and ensure it is recorded, as required.
