Do you love all things golf? Ever wanted to work and play on Canada’s highest-elevation golf course? We are looking to recruit Golf Starter-Player Assistants for the upcoming summer. The ideal applicant is happy to work outdoors in a mountain environment in varying weather conditions. You will check all players for green fee payments and report any concerns to the pro shop. Engage with guests and provide information and guidance regarding course etiquette and layout. Perform other related duties and assist with guest check-ins or power carts. Compensation Information: $19.00 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium, Indoor and Outdoor.

• Walking, standing, bending, crouching and twisting for periods of time.
• Ability to work in various conditions, including inside the shop, underground in the garage space, and outside.
• Exposure to heat, rain, smoke, and noise.
• Lifting – Exerting 20+ kg of strength occasionally, and/or 10 kg of strength frequently or constantly to move objects.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

• Strong understanding of golf rules and etiquette.
• Knowledgeable in a variety of communication styles and conflict resolution approaches.
  • Can demonstrate strategic decision-making skills.
• Energetic, outgoing, and patient with guest-focused mindset.
• Team oriented, demonstrating professional communication and respectful collaboration.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Previous experience in golf industry and guest service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand, follow, and enforce golf policies and procedures to ensure smooth, consistent, and efficient operations.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the Sun Peaks Golf Course layout, amenities and services.
• Greet guests, and communicate course rules, pace of play, etiquette, and on course amenities such as washrooms and food and beverage locations.
  • Respond and resolve questions or concerns in a tactful, calm, and non-threatening manner.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly course and surrounding areas, including repairing fairway divots, fixing ball marks on greens, and clearing broken tees from tee boxes.
• Prioritize guest safety by educating golfers on power cart operation, Alcohol Policy, wildlife, and adherence to daily signage and course notices.
• Observe and report any concerns or incidents immediately to the pro shop or patrol.
  • Document any interactions that may be a cause for concern.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with members, guests, staff, and the grounds crew.
• Ensure starter area and practice facilities are clean, safe, and presentable.
• Operate according to the code of conduct, mission, and values of Sun Peaks Resort LLP and Golf Operations.
• Health and Safety; immediate action required when concerns arise. Report to Manager.
