Terrain Park Supervisor - Winter Seasonal

Department: SPR - Outside Operations
Location: Sun Peaks, BC
Position Type: Winter Season

Are you a skilled rider who dreams about park layouts? We are looking to recruit a Terrain Park Supervisor for the upcoming winter. Do you have leadership or supervisory experience? The Terrain Park Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the Terrain Park Operations Team while ensuring that all terrain parks operate at the highest level of professionalism and quality. The Supervisor works within administrative guidelines, safety regulations, Sun Peaks policies and WSBC guidelines. The Terrain Park Supervisor oversees all activities related to the delivery of the terrain park program with the mandate of ensuring that guests have positive experiences while prioritizing risk management. Compensation Information:

$22.95 per hour

Physical Requirement:

Heavy, work activities involve handling loads of more than 20 kg; Predominately in an outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain the Terrain Park – in constant radio contact with dispatch
  • Ensure proper Risk Management for Terrain Park, signage, and feature marking
  • Ensure Terrain Park is manned seven days per week
  • Work in co-ordination with grooming to ensure the park is maintained
  • Daily maintenance reports completed before the end of the shift
  • Keep Slopes Manager/Patrol Director advised daily of all activities in Terrain Park
  • Maintain a constant presence in the Terrain Park while on duty
  • Approved Ski Helmet required when working on snow
  • Work with the Events Department and attend all in-resort Terrain Park meetings
  • Promote the Terrain Park
  • Event day set up and teardown
  • Assist in recruitment and managing of volunteers on event day
  • Park promotions and weekly updating for online updates for Terrain Park, sunpeaksresort.com and newschoolers.com
  • Update Patrol Director on any safety concerns
  • Fencing of Terrain Park/cleaning after storms
  • Snow gun placement for early season snow coverage
  • Help organize Terrain Park changeups
  • Communicate opening and closing of Terrain Park to Dispatch
  • Fencing and Signage Maintenance
  • Attend all required SPR orientation and training sessions
  • Duties as required to ensure successful operation of the department, including support of other departments and special promotions
  • Personal communication device use Not Permitted during working hours

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous Terrain Park experience
  • Knowledge of Terrain Park features, trends
  • Knowledge of Risk management for Terrain Parks
  • Terrain Park maintenance experience
  • Able to always work with minimum supervision
  • Supervise Terrain Park paid employees and volunteers
