Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a key member of the Sun Peaks Resort/Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Employee Experience team, reporting to the Director, Employee Experience. This role has primary responsibility for sourcing and recruitment, working in close collaboration with the Onboarding Coordinator and HRPs, as well as external recruitment partners. The incumbent will equally be the employment brand ambassador for Sun Peaks Resort/Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, showcasing our employment proposition across our digital and social platforms, and engaging with prospective talent and building pipeline.

The role is best suited to a talent acquisition professional or HR generalist with solid recruitment and sourcing experience looking for their next step in talent acquisition, ideally with experience and an understanding of employment brand, gained within a highly seasonal organization. Compensation Information:

$75,000.00

Physical Requirement:

Light, work activities involve handling loads between 5 kg and 10 kg. Predominantly in an indoor setting.

Please note this role has some flexibility for a hybrid office/remote work setup for qualified candidates.

Accountabilities:

  • Oversight for sourcing and recruitment process including requisition and offer management, and crafting compelling job postings, as part of needs analysis with department hiring teams
  • Owner and SME for the administration and training of our ATS
  • Responsible for job descriptions, and boiler plates, postings and offer management,
  • Proactively sources candidates through online channels (job boards, internal database and professional networks) with an emphasis on permanent and hard to fill roles
  • Acts as a first point of contact for candidates applying to permanent roles, proactively sourcing and delivering an exceptional candidate experience throughout pre-screen and shortlisting to hiring teams
  • Develops, implements and maintains sourcing playbook & strategy, leading initiatives to identify talent sources, and building engagement with community and institutional partnerships, both domestic and international, including college partnerships
  • Compiles regular recruitment-related reporting and metrics to track sourcing channels, time-to-fill, RO, retention, attrition, rehires etc.
  • Identifies and manages third-party relationships for hiring foreign workers, including IEC and LMIA partners
  • Remains up to date on employment law as well as immigration practices and visa requirements and oversees any company supported LMIA/PR applications for assigned departments
  • Informs the annual HR operations budget, aligned with annual budget cycle, for recommended recruitment and related spends and is responsible for budgetary tracking to that end
  • In collaboration with Marketing & Communications, manages our employment proposition and brand on social platforms, showcasing our culture and building engagement e.g. Glassdoor, Facebook, Linked In
  • Makes recommendations for best-in-class career site, enhancing our proposition to drive traffic and convert to applications
  • Provides ongoing assistance to broader Employee Experience team as required, including, but not limited to new projects and on-site events including new hire orientation, staff appreciation etc.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in a related discipline. CPHR designation, an asset
  • Minimum 3+ years of corporate and/or search firm experience with a successful track record as a talent sourcing/recruitment specialist. Tourism/hospitality environment experience an asset
  • Experience building sourcing playbooks and utilizing a variety of sourcing tools, including proactive phone and internet research; social networks, job boards etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally with candidates, colleges, community agencies and other external partners (locally and internationally)
  • Creative flair with experience using Canva or other digital design tools preferred
  • Familiarity, and experience of different international talent programs and workstreams including LMIA and LMIA-exempt pathways
  • Strong research capability (including Boolean search techniques) and report writing skills with the ability to distil insights and trends from multiple data sources
  • Creative copywriting skills across a variety of media with a keen eye for accuracy and detail
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
