OH&S Specialist, Injury Management

Compensation Information:
$53,000 - $58,000

Physical Requirement:

Medium: Work activities involve handling loads between 10 and 20 kg; In an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead employee injury management and ensure adherence to return-to-work (RTW) procedures
  • Process injury paperwork and engage with employees throughout the RTW process
  • Develop and implement Modified Work Offers (MWO) and RTW plans, including necessary documentation
  • Coordinate RTW duties and identify alternate duties if modified work is unavailable
  • Act as the primary communication link between employees and department supervisors during the RTW process
  • Monitor and assist with scheduling medical follow-up appointments with employees
  • Arrange transportation for appointments and ensure expense reimbursements are processed if necessary
  • Maintain accurate records for the MWO program and track all details consistently
  • Oversee completion of RTW processes and ensure all paperwork is finalized and uploaded to WSBC
  • Coordinate incident investigations and conduct root cause analysis with relevant stakeholders
  • Stay updated on WSBC regulations and communicate any changes effectively
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop psychological health and safety programs in compliance with regulations
  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation sampling and workplace observations
  • Participate in Health & Safety Week and other OH&S initiatives as required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Working towards safety designation (CRSP, NHSA, NCSO, etc)
  • Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, etc.)
  • Experience with full cycle injury management, prevent, and investigations
  • Highly developed emotional intelligence and soft skills
  • Ability to analyze data and develop reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to collaborate with multiple departments
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Work activities include Skiing/Snowboarding and Mountain Biking, Intermediate Skill Level is required
  • Work activities involve handling loads of 5 kg but less than 10 kg?
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments (Summer and Winter)
